Petra, child of Pete, grew up in the warmth of her father’s homefire den, deep in the Mountain Realm. She hasn’t known her mother but looks forward to her apprenticeship as a leather worker. But there is something not right in her society. Food is scarce, education is failing and the religion that has held her society together for hundreds of years is nearly forgotten. When a mysterious stranger offers her the chance to leave the Mountain in order to save it, Petra take her first steps into a bright but strange world. What she gains will open her eyes but is courage enough? So much has been hidden from her that by the time she makes it back she will have so much more to lose.
